While United Airlines continues to reduce flights at IAH, even more airlines step in to pick up the slack!

Delta Airlines - adds 4 daily non-stop flights from IAH to LGA 07/11/12

Frontier Airlines - moves flight operations from HOU back to IAH to offer 2 daily non-stop flights to DEN on 07/11/12

Spirit Airlines - starts flight operations at IAH to offer 2 daily flights from IAH to DFW 09/20/12

Turkish Airlines - starts flight operations at IAH to offer 4X weekly flights from IAH to IST 04/01/13

United is that one person you date who treated you like crap, but wanted you to think they are the best thing to ever happen to you and you should have been grantful they allowed you to be with them

I'd seen a story about Spirit Airlines on news last night but I've forgotten what was the issue.

It was probably the unexpected landing they had to make at IAH to offload an disruptive passenger which caused the flight to be a total of 19 hours.

Hopefully Spirit starts a direct flight from IAH to Ft. Lauderdale, so I can take advantage of their cheap fares to Central/South America.

I believe at some point Spirit will offer more flights to cities besides Dallas/Fort Worth. Being Spirit is an ultra-low cost carrier I am sure they are testing the waters in Houston first to see what kind of bite they get before expanding to other cities.

I am very confident that Spirit will have a good response in Houston and start flying directly to more cities.

Looks like Houston is not going to float away to Cuba after all as predicted by United.
