Our realtor suggested looking in Riverstone. It's my understanding that a lot of the homes are actually in Missouri City but the developer did some finagling to have a consistent Sugar Land address in the neighborhood. I do have some concerns that schools in MC currently attending certain schools could be rezoned.

What are your thoughts on this and where is the dividing line between the two cities?

Ask your realtor. They have all the delineations. I had to ask as well as part of SCR is in Pearland, part in Mavel and part in Fresno.

I believe the dividing line is FM 1092/Murphy Rd.

I am in Riverstone, Sugar Land part. If you trying to make a decision for Riversone but based on taxes, there is not much difference between Sugar Land and Missouri City

Riverstone's boundaries fall within both MC and SL ( same situation exists in First Colony). All of Riverstone is in Ft Bend ISD, it will not matter whether the address is SL or MC. The development is big enough to be split up between various schools within FBISD, school zone lines do not follow City Limit lines.

If the line between the Cities is not clear on a map provided by the developer or realtor check the websites of either SL or MC.

i think you can tell by the street signs. MC has blue/red signs, while SL is a solid color. major difference are schools (elementary/middle). i think the SL schools are a bit better... but currently all of riverstone goes to the same high school (elkins).
