Hi,I hear from various people that katy, Texas has changed over the years becoming increasingly crowded. Is this true? I also hear that there are more modern buildings and modern high schools around here. This is not bad. This is good. But is katy really crowded. Also, does anyone know the current estimated population today? Also people say that there are no sidewalks in the area, is this true? Tell me the pros and cons of living in katy texas. But my biggest question is about renting an apartment. Are there any apartments in katy that range from 800 to 1000 dollars?

The city of Katy's population as of the 2010 census is around 14,000 (up from around 11,000 in 2000). Katy area is an unincorporated area with Katy addresses. The Katy area population has grown from 139,000 in 2000 to 270,000 in 2011. So, if you haven't been here in 10 years, you will be surprised at the growth.

Most areas in the Katy area have sidewalks. You can find many 1 bedroom apts in the $800 to $1000 a month range. And you can find some two bedrooms in the $1000 a month range. If you like the suburbs and have a car, you will like Katy. If you prefer an urban lifestyle with everything within walking distance, you will not like Katy.

Sure there are apartments for 800-1000, depends on your standards of living and what you want. For when I first looked at apartments in Katy before I bought a house a one bedroom for me was over $1200 a month but I was looking a the nicer area with apartment complexes more in the residential area. You should be able to get an older apartment in North Katy or in a commercialized area just south of I-10.

Crowded is a subjective question. The city has grown over the years and it depends where you live in Katy on how how crowded it is. If you think Katy is crowded then don't think about living inside the loop. LOL Best thing to do is drive around and check it out and decide for yourself.

Katy doesn't seem as diverse as I had thought.
