Hello soon to be neighbors.

We are buying a house in Cardiff Mist. Planning on closing in the next few weeks. I wanted to ask about the GE touch panel control board you get in the house (new houses are coming with the Honeywell tuxedo).

What do you use it for? Do you use It a lot? What did it come connected to as standard?

We have the older touch panel...can't recall if it's GE or Honeywell. But, it's not really doing anything for us. Entouch will activate the services it can offer, such as weather, video, utility usage, at a cost/fee and seems to be more novelty than anything else. Also, in the past year since we purchased our new home in Cardiff, the panel has died on us, requiring a new replacement (no cost since it was within our 1 year builders warranty). The tech who came by stated that the version we had is really buggy and has major hardware issues. Currently, the only thing we can use it for without paying extra for services is accessing the security panel to alarm our house.

No problemo!

I can't monitor the energy usage unfortunately, as this is also a payed service. Since it's only two of us living here, we are pretty habitual with our energy consumption, so we haven't seen a need yet.

I was talking to a guy from Homepro about this, and it seems like you can do a lot with it, but of course, everything has a fee... You can see how much electricity you use, if you pay to have that module connected, same with the water, gas, etc... also, if you want to control the lights, you have to change a lot of stuff.... so it's neat, but it will cost you...

So far we only have used it for the alarm... It's nice that it actually speaks whenever you open a door and let's you know which door was opened
