I am moving to Houston in couple of months and want to know the best car dealership to work for as a sales guy. If you can guide me so that I can look for the place to live nearby. I have extensive experience in sales.

What brand of vehicles have you sold in the past and has it been in new or used?
Heres a link to several in the Houston area.

Haven't worked for a car dealer before but I do like the salespeople and the way they do business at Lexus of Clear Lake. They were a class-act organization to do business with.

One of the Baker Nissan dealerships would be great. Between the two, they sell about 25% of all Nissans in the area. Plus, it's a family run business and the Bakers are great people.

True, they've gone to our church and are great people. Also look at the local certified dealers listed on Car Pro - Car Pro Certified Dealer and Vehicle Reviews Jerry Reynolds has a radio show and all the dealers he selects are the best in the market area based on his customer service criteria. They offer no haggle discount prices and absolutely excellent customer service. They would be good dealerships to work for.

Baker stores are nicely run. But Tom Peacock does far more in volume. That place is more the traditional pressure cooker dealership however, and different buyers. Id say Baker has cleaner customers(credit wise). Mossy is also a clean store. When I sold loan programs to dealerships, Mossy had one of the cleanest portfolios around town. Very rarely if ever, a repo. Same guy has been running that F&I dept for years, class act.

Id say Tom P if you want volume, Mossy for quality of life.

Personally, If I ever did it, Id try to be a preowned internet sales guy. There is NO money in new car sales.

Fred Haas Toyota World on 45 has a huge pre owned dept, Joe Myers Toyota, too. JM is about to update their store. that would be a great place to get into now, then benefit later with the new store.

I saw that JM is using the old Steeplechase/Champion Lincoln Mercury location for car storage, but there are signs up that it is being remodeled for Baker Nissan to move to. So I guess JM is moving to the Nissan location?

I bought a Camry recently, and the guys I knew said something like they were basically trading the Nissan real estate for the Lincoln building, renovated to the new Nissan concept like Mossy/TomP, etc. I forget what dealer group owns them, but JM sells so much, they have kept Gulf States from forcing their hand at a multi million dollar remodel. It's sick. I bet they sell 800 cars a month in the spring/summer. And most cockroaches wouldnt live in the preowned building.

I bet Baker becomes JMT used, and the existing used is demo'd, and the existing new Toyota building is expanded/remodeled.

I think I bought some sn95 wheels from you a few years back. Still have them on my fox Thunderbird.
