Spring cleaning time and we are about to move as well. Where should we take old jewelry to sell, including what we think is gold?

Preference is 1960/290 area. Thanks.

If it isn't junk then try Houston Gold Buyer & Seller – Sell Gold Coins in Houston located in Rice Village.

I bought some nice vintage Rolexes from them and a couple of diamonds and there were people in there flogging their old stuff to them. They seemed pretty fair. Fairer certainly than those rip off places with names like 'cash4gold' who's sole remit appears to be offering you 10% of spot if you're lucky.

If it is decent jewelry, you need to take it one place to have it evaluated, then another to sell it.

Weigh your gold, do the math on 10/14/24k content, try to get 70% of scrap value. Its like buying a car, name your price, if they dont agree, walk. Repeat as necc.

Pawn shops get 97% of scrap from Houston Precious Metals.

I actually have recently gone to Gold and Silver Buyers. At first I thought it was going to be strange but when I walked in it was so clean and the buyer working was very helpful. I sold my ex wife's old diamond wedding ring and they gave me the highest price I had been offered. I recommend you go to their website and check out a location close to you.
