Hello,

We could be moving to Houston, and if so I would like to have a newer single story home, in an or near an equestrian community. I would like it to have stalls to lease, an arena, lessons etc. or possibly a home with a 1-2 acres. Of course, great school ratings are a requirement as well. (elementary to high school). Budget is around 700,000. A gated community with a pool is preferred. Home age 5 years or newer or new build.

To help clarify the term equestrian community; a housing development that offers either small home lots where horses are allowed and/or a common barn for boarding. The facility may have some equestrian amenities such as an indoor or outdoor arena and access to riding trails, a pool & possibly tennis courts.

Does something like this exist near Houston,TX? Any advice is appreciated!!

I don't know the subdivision names, but there are communities like this in Richmond, which is just past Sugar Land southwest of Houston. 77406 is one of the zips. Very nice area. HAR.com is the real estate search website most people use.

I googled and found Saddle Creek Forest which looks like it has the common arena, trails, etc. It is in the Waller area. Also found this thread on City-Data which has some good info:

There are many more options if you wanted to go the acreage route and keep the horse on your own property (of course, more work too) :-)
