Hello,

I live in fort bend off at the end of Bissonet street.

I am thinking of buying a dirt bike.

1. Are there any trails around houston or my area to ride the bike?

2. What all is requires to make the dirt bike street legal? I am thinking of buying street legal dirt bike.

Thanks for any help.

Willing to talk to any dirt bike riders

You want to buy a dual sport like this one:
2014 XR650L Overview - Honda Powersports

Don't think there are much in the sense of off road "trails" around here so you are going to have to ride it on the street or drive out of town somewhere. I want to get one like this too but not many places to take it off road in Houston.

Thank you,

I am first time bike rider, so I want to get something smaller like a 125cc.

I am still stuck on dual bike vs regular dirt bike..

I am no expert either, but since I hang out with a bunch of enthusiast when I go to Dallas area I am hooked as well. The advise I hear is that you should get at least something bigger then 500cc since you will outgrow it fairly quickly. And if you get a dual sport and ride it on the street anything smaller just wont cut it to keep up with traffic. Dual sport is just a street legal dirt bike (i.e. can pass state inspection)

The Honda is a bit tall for anyone under 6' so if you are shorter try this one: http://www.suzukicycles.com/Product%...4/DRZ400S.aspx

I actually test rode it and it felt great.

I rarely ever see dual sports anymore. Maybe in places out west, but not here in Texas. They were very popular in the 70's, 80's, & even early 90's. Most people just buy a dirt bike or street bike & be done with it.
