Hi,

If you know any suites or hotel, apartments or houses for rent in Richmond, Katy, or Sugarland please let us know. We need help. We are moving out for about 2 months and waiting for our house to be built and will finish in about 2 - 3 months. Price range below $1500/month. 2 bedrooms should be fine.

I remember in Arlington, TX has something similar like this for a suite with kitchen in it, you don't have to worry about the water bills, power bills ...etc. We would like to move in for temporary so don't want to sign any 6 months contract for an apartments.

Thank you so much for your help.

Try these apartments: South Katy Apartments | Grand Villas Apartments in Katy, TX 77494 I know they used to rent monthly. Don't know if it's too far for you. Also, they won't be furnished. Are you planning to buy furniture for just 2-3 months?
I would also suggest to try sublets on craigslist. There are quite a lot of them for the summer. People go on vacation and need to rent their houses/apartments for 2-3 months. Most of them would be furnished.

Default Temporary Housing

I just moved into my apartment. The most convenient option is called "corporate housing". You just come with your suitcases and they have the furniture, kitchen necessities, sheets, etc. You have to ask what is included. For example, you generally can get, WIFI, TV, etc. However, at your price range it may be very difficult.

Generally, inside the loop that rings the city (610 - see map) the pricing is $100 day for a one bedroom, more or less. Pricing was similar in the Galleria area and Westchase. Possibly out in Katy/Sugarland etc. it might go down a bit.

The company i used was Stafford Housing, Wasay was very helpful. These companies have arrangements with various apt buildings, put in the tv/cable, furniture etc to get it all set for your arrival.

Another route is an extended stay hotel. I check into these but the pricing was about the same. They seemed very sterile and depressing in the photos. If you write corporate or temporary housing and Katy/Sugarland in your browser, I'm sure you will find the companies.

A third alternative is to rent the apartment yourself and them make all the arrangements. My experience was that 3 months was the minimum lease period. Also, if you want phone/cable/WIFI you have to pay the set up fees yourself, plus the rent and sometimes utilities. These generally are included in corporate housing. Cort will do the furniture rental, and you can do a package with basic kitchen and bath supplies. Aaron furniture does not have such an arrangement.

Finally, as the OP said, Craigslist has a section for temporary rentals, but may experience is that the pickings were slim. I hope you can get lucky.

Ok... my family is cheap, but when we were between houses (May-Aug) we stayed at an InTown Suites. It was cramped, but it was $250 a week, and we lived to tell the tale.

I will admit, I took the 3 kids to visit g'parents out of state for a few weeks. It gave us something to do while we wait and was virtually free to couch surf at Gramma's.

So you might want to think out of the box too. If only one is working, can the other take the kids to visit relatives?

Also, check Homewood Suites. They are a Hilton Chain. Just initial search, you can stay for $99 a night. They are 2 room suites, serve dinner/drinks M-F and breakfast every day. Also, a kitchen area (full sized fridge, micro, 2-4 burner stove.) If youre flexible you could make it work!

Try vacation rental by owner (VRBO). You might find something reasonable on a monthly basis.
