Any advise on zip codes to look for homes in decent lower crime and good schools in actual Houston?

Though 20-25 miles from downtown, Clear Lake is in Houston proper.

77058
77059
77062

Or do you mean strictly inside the 610 loop?

My fiance will be working a lot at the medical center in Houston and I was just looking for a lower crime populated zip code to raise our 5 kids.

Clear Lake to the Medical center is about a 30-60 minute drive depending on when you leave. Sugar Land (77478, 77479) is about the same, also good place. Pearland is 20-45 minutes and is also good but a bit rural feeling in some parts.

The medical center is not a safe place to live. Been there, done that. If you're looking inside the loop I can suggest West University Place and Bellaire. They are very convenient to everything inside the loop, relatively expensive but are very nice, safe and likely have the only good schools in HISD.

Outside the loop you can also look at the villages like Bunker Hill, Hunters Creek, and Piney Point. They are zoned to Spring branch ISD.

Sorry I don't know the zip codes for those but I'm sure you can find them.

You might also check out the Meyerland area, especially parts zoned to Bellaire HS.
