Anyone recommend a good carpet cleaner in the Kay/Richmond area that is not to expensive? Would like to use one of the steam cleaners that has the truck mounted equipment.

Also, what's a decent price for having 4 bedrooms, a hallway and one large living room steam cleaned? House is empty so the cleaners would not have to move any furniture. Thanks.

I realize you want "cheap" but steam cleaners are the worst. They soak the carpet and the pad. They tell you to turn up your AC and seems like it feels damp for 2-3 days. That staying wet promotes mold and bacteria growth on pad. Go with a Chem-Dry - there are a lot of Chem-Drys around Houston. Carpet dries in about 1-hour. Its a carbonated method and doesn't soak your pad and take days to dry. They are more expensive though - you get what you pay for.

Got an estimate from Brightway. $280, including tax, for 4 bedrooms, a hall and a large family room. How does this price compare to others?

If its steam it's overpriced. Some other method that dries quickly then might be about right.

I've got Dirt Free Carpet cleaners coming this Saturday. The lady on the phone quoted me a price of ~$215 plus tax for the 4 bedrooms, family room and hall way. Any one use them before?
