Hi,

I was wondering the best way to dispose of all the stuff that accumulates in the garage and how much will it cost.

Items include old paint, pool chemicals, leftover wood, sheetrock, hardi-plank from remodel projects, old building supplies such as leftover caulk, cement, tiles, etc. gardening items such as broken pots, fertilizer, manure, etc.

We live in the Sugar Land area, but these items are not picked up by our trash service, even on heavy trash day.

Thanks.

Maybe you can check out that green bag from home depot/lowes used for hauling demolition junk. It should have some info who picks them up

Most counties have a household hazardous waste disposal drop off location for paint, chemicals, etc or have events where you can drop that stuff off.

Ft. Bend Co. : Fort Bend County, TX : Recycling Center/HHW

As far as the other items, may have to take them to a landfill yourself or hire someone to do so.

If the leftover construction supplies are usable you might be able to donate them to Habitat for Humanity.

I'd spread the old fertilizer and manure on the lawn. No sense in that stuff going to the landfill.

Old paint you can open the lid and add kitty litter and it should solidify after a week or so. Throw it in the trash.

Broken pots I would break them down to smaller pieces and throw in the trash.

Check the Bagster web site to see if it's available in your area. Dumpster in a bag:
Bagster®

If not, you'll probably need to find a landfill to haul the stuff to.

Only if it is latex based paint. Oil based need to be disposed of as hazardous waste.

Fire off a phone call to 800-GOT-JUNK. Let them deal with it. I'm fixing to deal with them for all my dad's stuff that he left behind that isn't sellable. :/

Just put it outside by your trash and some dude will come by and pick it up. I've put fridges, couches, TV's and they were all gone by like 9pm. And I don't even live in the ghetto.
