Gotta love "Competition of utilities"
What good do we get from that? In San Antonio my electrical bill was cheaper than here

I think that 3.4 cents is what Centerpoint charges and I haven't seen a way to get away from that.

Dopo - all deregulation did was give us a choice as to which company could gouge us on the rates. It certainly didn't lower them.

Now there seems to be a trend to charge you a higher rate and/or a fee if you don't use at least 800-1000 kWh per month. So much for the incentive to save energy although I still try.

The special offer was a 6.7 cent energy rate to extend contract through summer 2015. When you add in the Utility charges from Centerpoint (charges that the utility charges you that all providers pass directly to the customer without markup) that is around an average price of 10.6 cents(assuming 2,000 kilowatt usage). The $9.45 monthly fee is from Centerpoint. The only fee that Champion will charge is for usage under 800 kilowatts which is $6.95. If you have any additional questions, please email feedback@championenergyservices.com.

More fees. I refuse to deal with any company that will charge me a fee for lower usage.
