Single Male = dont like to cook/cooking for 1 is a burden = eating out = dont want to get fat and trying to eat healthier = more expensive meals = $350-$500 for food every month.

$500 for a single meal isn't even "baller." $500 a month is nothing to spend on food.

$500 a month for food/entertainment is nothing if your a single male. Not 'baller', closer to 'paid admission'.

hehe I'm glad my comment keeps this topic active.

so yes, I cook, so food cost is much less o an issue for me.
I actually manage on 300/month on Target prices. Eating out will not get you to this range.

Will you be working at a big four firm? Audit? Your work hours will also play a factor in determining how far away you want to live. I know for a fact first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth year auditors work stupid hours several months out of the year at the big fours and if that’s the case I would want to live closer to work and be little more willing to pay a higher rent for that convenience.

$500/month for food for one person basically corresponds to eating out at restaurants every day with the occasional Subway/Chipotle thrown in. You can definitely cut that in half and eat just as well if you know how to cook, but most people don't and among those who do they often aren't willing to.

So $500/month for food and all partying/drinking/events combined is really not that unreasonable. I know people who probably spend $500/month on booze alone. They're totally broke, of course, but that's just how they choose to live.

Damn zeroka! Do people actually pay 1g a month for their cars?

If I made 6 figures, I wouldn't even care for a nice car. Prob keep the paid one I have.

But also, with that budget you made, id sub that 1k instead for $500 towards a better place, 300 savings and 200 for added party food fund lol.

I'm not reading this entire thread right now but I can answer by asking this:

How much are you willing to pay for safety and proximity to things which fit your lifestyle?

I don't get why people ask for opinions in the internet.
