I have a couple of friends that live in Willow Creek. I know it is in Waller county but zoned to Katy High School. I am not sure about which junior high and elementary. They seem to like it. Their only complaint is that the traffic sometimes backs up on the feeder road when exiting because of the truck stop and the amount of traffic going through the intersection.

As long as it works well for you job commute. Try doing the commute during rush hour, before you commit.

Woodcreek Jr High, Wolman Elementary in Firethorn.

As for traffic, you can certainly find yourself coming back over the freeway behind a truck or two at times, however I would hardly call it a back up. I pass Pin Oak and 1463 every day coming home....now those are backups.

My commute to Barker Cypress and I-10 at 5:45 - 6:00 AM is 20 minutes and can grow to 30 minutes if I leave later or there is an accident. It really is a breeze if you work anywhere in the Energy Corridor.

Take a look at the tax rate of around 3.66%. Of that, the MUD alone is 1.25%.

Right now there is no way to get there besides the freeway, but Kingsland Blvd. will go through in the future. There are also brand new developments going in that will bridge the gap of no houses between Katy and Willow Creek Farms (it will be all housing along there).

WCF will not stay zoned to Wolman Elementary, which is the school within the Firethorne community. I don't know where it will go, but with all those homes going in, it won't stay there. My guess is a new elementary will go in out there to serve WCF and the at-least-two other developments I know of. Likewise they will not remain zoned to Woodcreek Junior High, as it is already over-burdened.

We're looking to build a bigger home, but we've already got school-aged children, so we're looking more at communities that aren't going to be moving schools a lot in the future, or else we know where they're going at least. I've seen families with kids move through multiple campuses, for example, 3 different elementary schools and then 2 different junior highs. Some kids in Cross Creek Ranch went to Stanley Elem, then Shafer when it opened, and now will move to Randolph when it opens in the fall. However, that's their own elementary now, so they won't likely get moved again, any more than the Firethorne kids would get moved away from Wolman. The community has their own pads though for both a junior high and a high school, so when those go in, they'll be transferring from Seven Lakes JH and SLHS sometime in the future. But then I hear people say they don't really care anyway, because they figure their kids are moving around with their friends at least. So I guess it's all your take on it. I just like to have some idea at least of where we'll be...
