Need some help: My daughter, soon to be graduated from college, is looking for an apartment in the SW Houston area She is looking for a one-bedroom apartment with in-apartment washer/dryer, expecting to pay about $900+ rent per month for that area. She prefers an upper floor, as it may be safer than a ground floor.

She wants to be relatively near Texas Medical Center. He husband-to-be is taking a job in Rosharon, TX, so he wants to be about 35-40 minutes from work. (They would consider other areas, too, that would put them in reasonable commuting distance). She's not the most city-wise person, so it should be a relatively safe area, relatively near basic services, such as as grocery stores. They are under some pressure to find something very soon since her husband-to-be will be relocating to start a new job (in the meantime, will stay with a friend.)

They haven't had much luck finding what they are looking for yet, trying to do this from outside the area. Any recommendations would be very much appreciated (also, any recommendations for apartments or areas to avoid.) Thanks very much.

Westchase, med center, meyerland, 610 and braeswood etc. All good areas for starter apt. Sugarland apts will be a bit cheaper. That rosharon commute will be awful from anywhere other than the sticks
