Terrible but Montrose has always been a high crime area no matter how many yuppies or money flows through. Not surprised! RIP

I'm a single guy living out in the suburbs and I've thought about moving into Houston, but stories like this make me wary. There's too much crime in a big city, even in "safe" neighborhoods.

Seems like a targeted attack, rather than random street crime.

I thought I saw where shots had been fired at him previously, like two months ago.

What kinds of crime? What are the statistics?

As oildog said it may be targeted.

I don't think it is any more high crime than midst of the burbs.

Actually, you trashed the whole city. Apparently the only place worth living in is Fulshear. You spend a great deal of time hijacking threads, maybe you need a different hobby.

I wouldn't be too concerned, from what I've heard he was targeted. If the area is high crime, I'd say most of it is property crime, bmv's and stuff like that. Too many people come in from the suburbs and think they can leave their laptops in plain view in the back seat...

They do that in the suburbs too ..... They leave it in plain view and go ahead and leave the doors unlocked for easy access. We have woman whining in our neighborhood that she thought she lived in a safe area but now she is rethinking her safety because her purse was stolen off the front seat of her unlocked car in the middle of the night by a teen who apparently lives in the neighborhood. When someone pointed out the common sense aspect - she got all offended and said well excuse me for assuming my things should be safe in my own driveway. So imagine those people coming in from the burbs.
