I'm trying to refill a prescription with no insurance. Doctors are asking $80-$100 per visit. Which I am not happy about, considering that the prescribed item is gonna cost $10.
Do you know any general practice/family practice/dermatologist or a similar MD charging walk-in patients less than $50 cash? Preferably in West Southwest Houston.
Thank you.

There are many private clinics and doctors on Hillcroft that charge $40-50 and can give you a prescription but most of them will give you one refill only.

Only the doctor can tell

That being said, there are clinics around Hilcroft that might work for you. Call and ask for their no insurance rates. Medical Clinic in Sugar Land and Houston - HMC is one of the sites I could find.

Depends on the medication and physician. You might also want to try calling the doctor that gave you the initial prescription. Depending on the drug/circumstances, they may be willing to just call in the prescription for you. My previous dr called in 3 refills of all my prescriptions for me when we moved, to give me time to get insurance and get established.

Default Manufacturer...

Sometimes the manufacturer can help, but you will need to call and explain your situation.

not sure what kinda prescription we are talking about but usually the cash non insurance Drs. like to give one refill max where as the insurance Drs. won't mind giving 2 to 3 month supply (provided the medicine is required for so long)

It's also depending on what the medication is treating for. Doctors don't want to be responsible for drug addicts (not saying that you're one though).
