It's that time again - time to renew my electric company. I have been with Reliant for the last couple of years but this time around, they are only offering me a 9 month contract. I've read the rates are rising so I'd like to try and lock in a longer contract if possible. I've read a lot of good reviews about Bounce and Champion and their rates are comparable with what I can get with Reliant, but that I can get a longer (up to 24 months) contract with either company.

Is anyone with either Bounce or Champion? Do you like them? Do they have hidden fees if you don't go over a certain usage threshold or if you choose not to pay automatically?

Oh, two more questions - does either company offer weekly emails with usage and do they allow for balanced billing?

Thanks!
pnc

I had Bounce Energy for the previous 2 years. No issues, you can get rewards for paying on time, and yes they send weekly usage emails. I just switched to Source Power & Gas, not because of bad service, they just had a better rate this time around.

I have Bounce and I like them. I just renewed for my second year. Their rewards program is nice.

I will probably switch next year as you have to play the game to get a better rate.

i have used champion for the past 2 years. Their customer service is very good which is one of their selling points. Also, if you sign with them, the give you a referral code and if anyone signs up with that code, you get $25 off and they get $25 off their first month's bill. last year, i had referrals for all months so all my bills were $25 less. let me know if you plan on signing with champion so i can send u my code

I am using bounce energy since 2009. Their rates are competitive. The referral programs work great. Both you and your friend will receive $50. Just FYI, the referral fee will go up to $75 each in the end of year (Starting mid nov - dec). Let me know if you are interested to go with Bounce Energy. I can send you the referral code via email.

Can't go wrong with Champion. Only reason I left is because their rates were too high a couple months ago.

Ditto on Champion Energy. Very good customer service department. I was with them for four years.

Bounce rates suck now. I went with Direct Energy and used a referral code to get me 12 months at 9.3, whereas Bounce offered 10.8 with a $50 gimmick bonus, no thanks.
