Depends on where I'm working. I live central to potential places I'd be working at for a few years at a time. Right now my commute is about 25 mins in the morning and 30 in the evening.

About 40 min in the am, 35-45 in the pm. My commute involves several school zones.

Default Ten minutes each way...

We used to live in Katy, past Katy Mills Mall, and we did that commute to the Greenway Plaza area for about 12 years, until our kids got to the age where they had after school activities. Something had to give, and so now we live just 4 miles to the office, never a traffic jam because there are so many routes to the office.

Aside from the commute time, I also figured that when the government starts to tax by the mile, it will be cheaper to live closer to the office. It will happen, already starting on the West Coast.

35 to 40 minutes each way, but, according to my car's computer, I usually average about 54 mph for the entire trip. For me, it's not too bad when you're going at a good clip for the majority of the drive.

I come in from 90 to Beltway 8 over close to IAH. It's usually fast until I cross 59, then everything slows down.

Smart phones are cheap, Unlimited data plans are cheaper, and everyone is connected and 'smart' not to 'waste' time just by driving.
Recipe for another 50% increase in commute time

From my house in Oak Forest, straight down 43rd/Clay Rd to the beltway where my office is...about 15 mintes before all the 290 construction, now it's about 25 minutes.

How much time do you spend driving to and from work each day?
15 min, each way, during rush hours.

A little over 10 minute drive from my house in New Caney to the Townsen Park and Ride in Humble. And then about another 30-35 minutes from the Park and Ride to the front of my office in Downtown Houston near Minute Maid.
