Moving to Houston soon and need to know who the city's most brilliant orthopedic hand surgeon is. Had to have my left thumb rebuilt with an LRTI (Ligament Reconstruction Tendon Interposition) surgery, which is basically having your thumb rebuilt with removal of large wrist bone, taking tendon from arm to weave through thumb bone. Had to have a surgeon do my left hand and he botched it. My dominant hand is my right hand, so obviously need the very best surgeon in the area. Really appreciate the help! Any suggestions on a general M.D., who really cares about their patients would be great, too! I've been north of the Mason-Dixon where healthcare is a joke and finding a physician who actually cares about you and will help you is rare and difficult to find. Can't wait to get back down south where people actually care about each other!

My wife had this exact surgery about a year ago. I'd never even heard of it before that. We have a close friend who's a knee doc, and he sent her to his #1 hand doc. I'll ask her who it was later today, and repost for you. I'm pretty sure it was part of the Fondren Group on S Main.
She's happy with the surgery, and considers it a success.
