My family is looking at a possible move to the Houston area. Are there any good areas that have cheap rent? Looking around $600. We are not looking to live in town, surrounding towns are better for us. Any real estate companies that have rentals? I have looked online and can't seem to find anything. Thanks for any help

Good Areas and Cheap Rent do not go together. For $600.00 a month you are not likely to find a 1 bedroom in a good area.

Check out HAR leases

Try the Pearland, Deer Park, La Porte areas.

600 bucks. Only thing you found at that price is rundown apartments with folks that have zero regard for other people.

You are probably better off staying in OK as your budget is unrealistic.

Yeah.... You may have to stretch that surrounding town out a bit... Maybe deep, deep in one of the surrounding counties... maybe...

$600 won't get you anything nice or safe in those areas either.

Thank you for the info. As for being unrealistic, i was just needing info, no rude remarks. We are currently buying the home we live in & its in a good area, for $600 a month. Since I'm not from TX I have no clue what things run price wise.

Not rude, just telling it like it is. You are asking for advise on the internet.

Also, you should have some idea that kind of budget will not go far in any major city.

Nice partners in nice and safe areas are fairly pricey. At the $600 range, you just aren't going to find anything desirable that you would want to live in. Have a family member who moved away and now misses Houston but he is probably in your price range and he can no longer afford to live in Houston so for now has no plans to move back. Cheap and Houston no longer go together.
