Hi All. A couple of questions regarding roofing as I noticed that my AC has been working fairly hard now since summer has arrived.

I've read that if it's about 90 degrees outside that your attic should be in the mid 80s to 90s? I haven't checked the actual temperature but it feels way beyond 90 up there. I'm thinking that insulation and vents are some things I need to check. Also, I noticed I haven't heard the attic vents in awhile.

So my question are: Do roofing contractors or electricians check and install the roof vents? If so, can anyone pm me some references?

Anyone have opinions on radiant barrier? Is it worthwhile?

Thanks for your time,

I don't know where you heard that you attic should be at or below the outside temp but it's going to be much hotter in your attic than it is outside during the summer
