Most won't let you do that due to liability reasons. But there may be a few DIY garages out there.

I agree here. It is a liability, if he has to remove any bolts, and pieces start to break, the owner of the car will most likely cry foul, and demand that the repairman fix/replace everything. It is just not worth the hassle. 'Sorry for your woes... but keep that in mind if you do find a place that will work on it, don't try to get over on them because your vehicle is damaged by the salts from years past.

I have bought a car from the north (canadian model 240sx). I also work on my own cars...so I can understand why shops shy away from them. It is a pain in the ***** because of the rust, especially since yours is an older model. Some bolts may just snap in half when you try to remove it. It was very frustrating. I told myself I will never buy a car from the north again. Good luck

Thank you very much for the shop recommendations guys! I'm going to keep them in mind.

I didn't have much luck finding anyone in my area but I did find someone in Houston (Houston ZAuto) that does work on Nissan Z and S chassis. I spoke with them and they were ok with working on the car. Its an hour+ away... but it gives me piece of mind so I'm going to go there.

This is an interesting topic. I never thought about the salt and rust issue. Something I can remember when I'm looking for my next "new" car.

OP, you may want to consider going to the dealer for repairs. It will cost more though.
