I know it is a bit early but we are looking to buy a real tree this year.

Anything to know for first time homeowners with a tree?
Any places in Houston/Katy to get a quality tree without breaking the bank?

I assumed $120 should get a decent 7-8.5 foot tree.

Any advice, tips are greatly appreciated.

Thanks - are the christmas trees pretty good there?
We most likely will not buy a tree until 12/1

I go to Houston Garden Centers every year, near the beltway and the I-10 interchange. They have good trees, good prices and they'll wrap it up and put it on your car.

If you have kids, it might be fun to go to one of the Christmas tree farms and pick your own?

I think picking your own christmas tree is always fun. It can make for a fun little date with your significant other, and be an adventure for your kids! (If you have any)

Dewberry Farms is the one my friends and I go to.

I think Whole Foods has the best trees. Last year it stayed fresh the entire season without drying out. Most are $69 and on a certain week the tree comes with a wreath and a baby tree too.
Christmas tree farms are more fun though.
