INO is the same burger chain product you'll get anywhere else. Factory farm beef and potatoes fried in gross vegetable oil. If there's any reason they're worth patronizing it's the price. Taste wise, I put them on the same tier as a good Whataburger or Sonic.

The whole In n Out vs Whataburger debate is funny. Growing up eating In n Out, I honestly don't see how Whataburger even comes close. I think of Whataburger as a "third" tier burger, on the level of Mcdonalds, Wendy's, etc. There is absolutely nothing special about the burgers.

Yes, it is a "Texas" thing, and I love all things Texas, but their burgers are so mediocre. In n Out has fresh ingredients, friendly service, and clean restaurants. Not to mention they pay more than Whataburger. I for one, can not wait until they open shop. They will do just fine, as will Whataburger.
^^^^^ All of this, except growing up in the SF Bay Area...I'm old enough that I don't remember any In n Out locations there. I had to wait until I lived in Southern California to have one nearby.

Lets face it, Whataburger is all about the Patty Melt, not the other burgers they sell, and nothing out there can touch it.

SugLandDad for the win! Agreed! It's really their patty melts that take the prize. I'd get a patty melt with a strawberry malt and call it a night.

And their Onion Rings! Not a fan of the WB fries, but their onion rings with spicy ketchup are really good!

lol I'm a Texas native and have always disliked Whataburger (except for their chicken - it's not bad for fast food). But their burgers are amongst the worst I've had. I seriously don't like them much more than McDonald's and I hate McDonalds. I did try the patty melt and it's not bad either, but the regular burgers are awful in my opinion.

In N Out, Five Guys, Shake Shack pretty much every chain > Whataburger. And for In N Out, the price of a typical meal is like half of that of Whataburger on top of all that!

I know my Texan card is in question, but it is what it is - I've never understood the love for Whataburger. I definitely feel like its a Texas pride thing!

BS,
I worked in Sonic for several years and it was my favorite burger.... until I tried Whataburger
Recently went back, tried Sonic, and now I know for a fact that Whataburger is my favorite burger.

That's probably why I never got why WB got so many raves. I've tried their other burgers and couldn't really tell much difference between them and the other chains' aside from having no ketchup and lots of mustard. I've always figured their popularity is a small town Texas nostalgia thing.
