Friendswood residents , how would friendswood be for a retired couple in the newer areas? Knowing people flock there to put their kids in friendswood schools, would a retired couple be out of place or is there a fair mix of ages in the newer areas?

Lots of old folks in Friendswood. I grew up in Friendswood, and I do not know of even a single empty nester having moved away from Friendswood from my large group of friends.

The old folks like it there....fairly stable property values (not anything wildly escalating) lots of Friends, lots of churches, close to a mall, and its safe.

I can't think of any reason that old folks would leave, and I dont personally know any who have.

Thanks that's reassuring. Looking at new construction there and know that will be filled with young families but for the price -- makes sense to go new energy efficient vs old. So hoping there will be some diversity in age groups.

There are actually large "retirement communities " (apartments) in Friendswood for a city its size. In fact they are building a large brand new retirement complex on FM 518 close to Pearland. The library and the city activity center is busy with things to do for retirees, they will even pick you up from your house if have transportation problems.
