About to a minute ago Houston had it just about perfect, but now the scammers are taking over, from small people to big people, from small business to big business.

I don't plan to give any names yet as I will do it later after I have all my facts straight and fully documented and of course all legal venues covered. But I do want to thank them for being open for business and working, minus the scams???

Few days before Harvey I put in a ticket with American Home Shield for my HVAC upstairs that is out. Assigned tech from the "X" company came in to determine this POS variable speed Lennox blower was toasted. Pay my $95 deductible and in the next few days I should be covered with a new blower installed. Done it before and it works pretty smooth.

Today I get a very distressed call from "X" company the owner, weird accent, that my blower will take months to come in due to Harvey and he strongly recommends both units to be replaced upstairs due to poor quality on the Lennox brand. I was like WTF, did I just hear that right? This house i barely 5 years old. Best part of all he will give me a great deal and only have to pay 3K for both units, instead 6K original price.

I politely declined and request to follow the american home shield warranty process. All conversations were recorded and I will hand them to the proper authorities after all of this all set and done. Very disgusting indeed.

HVAC technicians normally carry regular replacement parts such as capacitors and blower motors with them. Usually they can do such minor repairs right on spot at first visit. Unfortunately you were dealing probably with the worst contractor. Common belief that home warranty companies use cheapest and worst contractors.
I was lucky with a positive experience, but that was a different home warranty provider.

That's exactly what's going on. I contacted AirTeam the original HVAC installation company and this is a basic blower anyone should have in their vans. Obviously the warranty contractor was taking me for a ride.

But it gets even better. When I confronted this slimy contractor with the scam they tried to pull on me they went ahead and claimed with American Home Shield that problem was solved/ticket close, just duct work. Now I have to fight with AHS that the issue actually is not fixed and still needs fixing. Can't wait to deal with slimy contractor. I WILL PAY my own money if I can make this effed up contractor front page in Houston during times like this. They so deserve it. Any ideas please how to shame this low life HVAC contractor?
