Good morning,

All of a sudden, I have received Fort Bend county MUD Supplemental Tax Statement for over $3000 for the last two years. Has anyone else received such bill?

OK. It seems that there was a glitch with their system and they sent the bills in error.

I have not and I guess I shouldn’t speculate but it’s probably your MUD tax statement since it’s in addition to your county/city/school taxes that are typically collected by the county. But if it’s like many other situations your mortgage payment probably includes paying MUD taxes and what you’re receiving is likely just documentation of what those specific taxes are even if they’re already getting paid. Sounds like you’re in a MUD which would have been in the documentation when you bought the place. Go to the Ft Bend CAD web page and look up the property and tax entities and you will find it related to the documentation you’re receiving. Sorry if you’re already a step ahead of me and know all this and what you’re receiving is something other than what I’m assuming.

Thanks. Like you said, I am aware of how MUD tax works. As of end of last year, my area is no longer associated with MUD system. It seems that their MUD's computer system generated erroneous bills. Their office confirmed it this morning.
