Quote:
EDINBURG, TEXAS – We are proud to endorse Senator Ted Cruz in the upcoming election for the United States Senate seat in Texas. Senator Cruz has long supported the efforts of the United States Border Patrol and its agents to secure this country’s borders. He has shown a repeated willingness to stand firm in his convictions, even when the Democratic special interests try to shut him down with every political tactic at their disposal.

If we had a Senate with more people like Ted Cruz we would be much further along in actually securing the border instead of just talking about securing the border to garner votes during election cycles. Unfortunately, many senators forget about what they promised as soon as the election comes to an end and we have to watch as they sell border security and their constituents out for 6 years. Ted Cruz has proven to be the same BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER the election. He is a man of principle and conviction. Washington D.C. needs more honest, hardworking men and women like Senator Cruz...

Brandon Judd

NBPC President
The men and women of the US Border Patrol who are actually on the ground dealing with this illegal immigration battle strongly support Ted Cruz, that's all I need to know.

How do you invade when you're a thousand miles away?

A group of thousands of people who have openly expressed their intention of breaching our border and entering our country with or without permission is an invasion. They've been offered jobs and asylum by Mexico (where they're currently walking) and the group has refused, they plan to continue to the US border.

Illegal immigration battle, LOL.

If their endorsement is all you need to know, you likely are an ideal Republican low-information voter.

Well duh, he's been starting these not-so-cleverly-disguised political threads for the last couple of weeks now trying to influence the C-D vote. There are plenty of folks who let internet posters influence their political views, so I guess he's trying to pick a few off or something.

At the end of the day, immigration is what it is. The birthrate has declined over time - the country as a whole is below replacement level, and the levels of legal immigration aren't high enough to get us back to positive population growth. Without illegal immigration (or better yet, significantly higher levels of legal immigration) we'll end up becoming Japan. The elephant in the room that no one seems to be talking about is legal immigration numbers - if those were significantly higher you'd see a lot lower illegal immigration numbers as less people would feel the need to sneak in.

Building a wall in conjunction with lowering legal immigration rates is a road to future economic disaster. The primary reason immigration is a big deal now is because the country is becoming noticably less white and some can't handle that concept. So it all gets couched in the language of public safety (though native-born Americans have higher rates of most crimes), employment competition (though we're essentially in full employment), and finally racism and xenophobia ("you can't make your country great by having other people's babies"), despite the fact that a tapestry of "other people's babies" created this country.

Ideally, at least in my mind, a good immigration system would be something similar to what Congress tried to do in 07 - essentially increasing legal immigration, increasing border enforcement, and give current illegal immigrants a long path to citizenship combined with having to pay fines and back taxes as appropriate. Border enforcement is extremely important in this plan and there are multiple ways to acheive that using technology and policy. But long story short, this country needs immigrants and I'm sorry but Norwegians and Swedish folks aren't clamoring to immigrate here in large enough numbers to satiate the racialists.

The primary issue isn't really the number of immigrants, or where they're from, or even the method of border enforcement as I see it - its basically making sure that whoever does come here is going to be beneficial to the country in the long run. That's the main weakness of large-scale illegal immigration - you can't screen those folks. The best way to solve this problem in the long run is through policy to encourage greater legal immigration for those who want to come here and be productive, regardless of where they're from.

That’s an organization that speaks for some people. I know plenty of border patrol and their views are all over the map. Lots of people take those jobs because it’s either that or teaching for a middle class career down in the valley. Lots of those folks feel guilty about the direction their work has taken really since Bush II.

I don't see you complaining about the multiple Beto threads in here... I wonder why that might be. Oh wait I know, you're a hypocrite.

No you don't. This organization speaks for the Border Patrol officers who secure our borders.
