We are from Illinois and came out here 10 years ago to see if we wanted to live here. We found welcoming people who were so nice and helpful, and I just love the Southern accent.

The job fell thru but we still managed to come out here years later. It seems like most of the people in the 2 neighborhoods we've lived in are mostly from other countries now. We're looking to buy but we'd love to do so in an area we can be around all you wonderful Texans and soak up that Southern charm :-).
Any ideas? We were looking to go a bit farther South to be near the Westpark tollway. Are Cross Creek Ranch or Bella Terra what we are looking for?

10 years ago there were more Whites living in Katy however in recent years lots of non-Whites such as Asians and Indians have been moving into the area, not that there is anything wrong with that at all, just speaking statistically. As non-Whites have been moving into Katy, most of the White "Texans" have been moving farther West/Southwest towards Fulshear and Brookshire. You will find what your looking for in Cross Creek Ranch and Cinco Ranch Southwest. I would also recommend Firethorne though Firethorne is closer to IH-10 than Westpark Tollway but not really too far from the toll road, so your best bet would be Cross Creek and Cinco Ranch Southwest.

Bella Terra is in Richmond which has a large Indian/Pakistani and Nigerian community. Bella Terra is also near the Westpark Tollroad but the demographics won't match your needs.

Also there's a distinction between the wider Katy area (largely corresponding to the Katy ISD boundaries) and the City of Katy (at the western end of the Katy area). The City of Katy is relatively small and so far its only religious institutions are churches, but the Katy area now has Hindu and Muslim facilities.

Not sure of your price point, but Fulshear Run meets your demographics as well. Fulshear Run starts in the high 500s for 1/2 an acre.

Ah, sorry, above what we wanted to spend. We're looking at the mid 300's. Thanks though.

I think the true nexus of your problem is that Cinco Ranch/Cross creek Ranch/SW Katy is where newcomers come when relocating. It’s “famous” (for lack of a better word) for the best schools, safest communities. When you have to make a snap judgement on where to live from across the country or across the world, you choose SW Katy as the safe bet. Hence so many newcomers (from all over the world)

So you might find what you’re looking for in places like the City of Katy. It’s not artificially pretty or dressed up like a new MPC, but long timers know it’s a nice safe friendly place to live. Maybe also consider Pecan Grove or Simonton too.
