I live about 45 minutes from Galveston am looking for a hotel that I can stay at when I just want to get away for a night or two on weekends. Not a touristy place, just something simple, clean and comfortable with easy parking and access to the beach. Decent food/coffee options within walking distance would also be a plus. Maybe it's asking a lot, but just wondered if anyone had a good recommendation.

There are a couple of Condominium projects on Seawall BLVD just west of 61st . One is called Casa Del Mar and the other is called the Victorian .

These Condos have individual owners but these owners place their properties into rental programs run by the Condo association.

You would be on the Seawall but I doubt the restaurant choices are particularly eclectic I mean there is a Golden Corral between the two properties , but they are reasonable in price and comfortable.
