Hey y'all
I'm thinking about moving to Houston. Grew up in Huntsville and wanna come to the city with my gf. Our budget is $1.6k for an apartment.

We'd prefer a majority Hispanic neighborhood. Also I'm visibly trans so somewhere LGBT accepting. Thanks!

Note:
Please don't comment "oh everywhere is lgbt accepting" or "you don't seem very tolerant urself" I was literally beat up in Huntsville ur only making urself look ignorant.

Montrose would be the best bet for trans acceptance, but I doubt there's even a plurality of Latino people there.

Maybe apartments near Sabine and in that buffalo bayou/ Washington corridor, or the other way into Midtown? There are a lot of young people there. I can't speak for everyone's views of course but I find younger people to be more open to LGBT than older people.

Edit to add: not a Hispanic neighborhood however. Maybe near North side?

Edit to add also: Houston has a really diverse population, with Latinx people in most neighborhoods. You might want to decide which is your priority-- LGBT, or heavily Hispanic. Based on your past experiences (which are terrible, I'm sorry that happened to you) I'd say go for an area that is tolerant, and you're likely to also find Latinx folks there.

I think for a heavily Hispanic neighborhood that Near Northside would be a good choice. It has both remaining rough edges but also up-and-coming stuff - gentrification is definitely on, and the mood should be friendly to LGBT, especially among the "incoming" population.

Northside/Northline is majority Hispanic, but it has a growing black population. It's transitioning and Lindale Park is the desirable part of the area. I see that area becoming pricey as it continues to transition. LGBT wise, I don't think natives of the area would care if the OP was LGBT.
