Is Sugar Land only a residential area or are there jobs (big companies, law firms, etc.)?

There are some big companies in Sugar Land. It may no be as large as the Katy-Energy Corridor area, but Sugar Land has a decent job market. Especially along Us 59. There are some mid-sized building close to the unfinished Sugar Land Town Center.

Don't lie to this guy....there isn't much of a job market in Sugar Land. I lived there for 28 years. If you are looking for a "real job" you would be commuting to the Galleria area or Dwontown. Sugar Land is mainly shopping, restaurants and housing. There are a few large companies but not what you are expecting unless you want to work at Starbucks.

Did Furgerson just accused Guerilla being a liar?

So, other than the center of Houston or the immediate surrounding of it, is there any place near Houston that has a job market?

I disagree. I know lots of people who work in Sugar Land.

...was ranked as one of the “Top Cities in Texas” for business relocation and expansion by both Outlook Magazine and Texas Business. Industries calling Sugar Land home are as diverse as its resident population. Ranging from semiconductors to seismic-data equipment, Sugar Land industry has grown dramatically over the past 10 years. The city has attracted numerous high-profile regional and international corporate relocations in a variety of industries including engineering, construction, technical services, energy exploration and production, technology and research, electronics and communications.

Houston is in another boom period now. It can be very industry specific so it depends on what you do best. Energy Industry, engineering, etc. are on a tear.

On the low end of the spectrum competition is fierce. Immigrant population is booming so if you do not have specialized skills of some sort you will see lots of competition for relatively low wages.

How am I lying? Sugar Land has a decent regional job market. Many companies have regional offices there. There are many mid-rise buildings being built, or recently completed in Sugar Land.

Isn't Sugar Land to Medical Center much closer than to Downtown.

The Medical Center is only a few miles southwest of downtown.
