Are there any resorts for starters that have canoeing and/or boating in Houston and suburbs excluding Galveston area?

Bay Area Park has a ramp at the Armand Bayou.

People also canoe/kayak/boat on Clear Lake and out to Galveston Bay. Seabrook, Kemah, etc. Brave souls in those kayaks in the bay... I'd be afraid the surf there would catch you off guard if you stay there too late in the morning.

I think you could also canoe the Harris County line between Webster and League City (Clear Creek). I believe Walter Hall Park also has a ramp to launch into that. Otherwise, make your own lauch ramp.

I'm not really sure of these resorts you mentioned though.

There's a canoe club that meets at Bay Area Park. Have no idea if they have a website or not. Met a bunch there last year. But, becareful...there a few good size gators that hang around that ramp. Always makes life interesting!

If there is water...around here...there is an excellent chance of gators and garfish etc. Unless your in a built in pool.
