I'll be relocating to Houston in two weeks, so it is crunch time for me. I was told Alief has some really good schools, is this true or not? My sister's three kids are currently enrolled in Alief, and she hasn't had any problems. My concern is that I'm taking my child from an "A" school, in Tallahassee, and I don't want to make the mistake of putting him in something less (if that makes any sense). I would like to live close to my sister, but not willing to sacrifice my child's education. However, I can't afford to live in Sugar Land nor Katy.

Any suggestions?

Oh and what is the job market like? Just in case I end up leaving the job I'm going to.
