I am relocating to Houston area.My husband will work in Dairy Ashford area. Are there any good(rated exemplary) schools and neighbourhoods in that area(new constructions)?I will be working probably in downtown area.
Should I buy the house in Katy? I am very worried about my commute time if I buy the house in Katy.Is there a public transport available to Commute from Dairy Ashford to Downtown?I'm looking for houses around 300K.Any kind of help will be appreciated.

Katy is very popular for people who work in the 'Energy Corridor' near I-10 and Dairy Ashford.

New Construction, East of Katy along the I-10 Corridor will run you well over 800k. If you have to have new, Katy is your best bet.

Metro runs two Park n Rides in Katy- one at 99 and I-10; the other on Kingsland. Both go to downtown and make commuting much easier! There is also a Park n Ride at I-10 and 6. Commute from 99/10 to the far side of downtown is about 45 min. Everything else is a little shorter-

The only SBISD Exemplary schools in the Dairy Ashford/ west Memorial area are Wilchester Elem & Rummel Creek Elem. The neighborhoods for these schools were built in the 60's and are priced from the 400's (for a house needing to be updated) to a million. New construction begins at a million. So it looks like you be looking at Katy unless you want to consider an older home.
Meadow Wood Elem is near Dairy Ashford & is pretty good but not extremely desirable......it's ranking is "recognized". You can find a home for this school zone in your $ range, but it will be a 1960's beauty too! :-)
