I've been reading the threads concerning Sugar Land on this forum, and they've been helpful. But I would like more specific information concerning the Sugar Land area. My husband and I just moved to the area and are looking to buy a house in Sugar Land.

I read on some posts, that Woodbridge is a neighborhood to stay away from. Are there any other neighborhoods in Sugar Land that we should stay away from. Also, are there any neighborhoods that are really desirable (good resale value) with good schools. We've been looking in First Colony, Greatwood, New Territory. We also found a house in Woodbridge, but I was unsure about the area, and after reading some of the information on this forum, I think we'll stay away from it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. We are thinking of staying in the area for a while, but the possibility of being relocated by my job is somewhat high, so we want to buy in a neighborhood that if we sold in 2-4 years, we wouldn't fare too badly.

Thanks!

First Colony, Greatwood and New Territory are pretty good areas. You may also want to look into Lake Olympia but that area is kind of far from the highway (59).

The only thing about Greatwood is that the school district is Richmond and not Ft. Bend. Nothing wrong with Richmond but Ft. Bend is better. GW is also the furthest away to downtown compared to NT and FC. They are all pretty decent areas and I don't think you would have a prob selling in the future. I'm no real estate expert, I just grew up there.

If you stay within First Colony or New Territory, you'll be happy you did.

I think Townewest was another to stay away from.

The problem with these two location is that they are far from where the jobs are (downtown) and the better options may be Meadows, Sugar Creek, and The Highlands.

The Highlands might be part of First Colony. Either way, it's surrounded by First Colony neighborhoods so pretty much the same area...

New Territory is further out, you're right. But it's got great schools and home resale values.
