It reminds me of how when you have two universities in a city, the inferior one develops an intense rivalry with the better one. The better one often has no idea a rivalry exists. It's kind of pathetic.
I don't really see a rivalry between California and Texas. What I do see, however, is a strong contingent of Californians that love to ***** about Houston. The way I see it is California is kind of like a beautiful lady. California has rolling hills, the Pacific beaches, incredible climate and so forth. If you can no longer afford the "beautiful lady" you have nobody to blame but yourself. Houston will never be as pretty as California. That's a given. With that said, it is rather put your head in the sandish to so unabashedly rip on Houston as if it absolutely has no positive qualities. If you love California so much, invent a computer program and move back.
