I also don't get it. Does money = credibility?

I am glad you understood it. I don't think anyone else did. What cheryjohns said made sense. Money does not equal nice. I am just starting to look around for a house and have noticed that there are $120,000 to $130,000 neighborhoods where the neighbors are decent people that keep their homes and yards up. Also not so good neighborhoods in the same price range. Not everybody can afford $200,000 for a house, which is doesn't make them bad people. Evidently, you two seem to think it does. Glad you aren't my realtor.
BTW, I am approved for more, but my comfort zone is $125,000. I would rather live next door to someone that feels the same, rather than a $200,000 neighborhood and my neighbor is getting foreclosed on because they over-bought. Just a different propective you might want to consider before you make a judgement on people.

I agree, I live in a D R Horton section of WLN(homes from the 120's to 150's), and I love it. I have met my neighbors, we have parties together, our kids play together. We are all around the same income bracket, and we get along. I think finding your comfort zone is the best way to go. Remember the old saying, money can't buy happiness.

that area is pretty good, katy has gone down hill with all the recent low income housing. there is one area off of fry north of clay the homes look like little condos crime is insane in that area. i made the mistake of buying one before they were finshed. i lost over 15K all most overnight, the area got so bad i just let the house go to the bank. i couldnt believe it when i finally evicted those people they completlt destroyed a brand new house in less than 4 months!

If you are looking at the area north of Clay, between Greenhouse and Barkers Cypress, I recommend you look at the Grand Oaks/Rolling Green and brentwood subdivisions.
