im not from michigan, but from chicago. houston definitely has some nice strong points like restaurants, diversity, economy, cost of living, lack of cold (a plus for a lot of ppl)etc. however, i am only here because of my husband and wish i could go back. i hate the weather here, we had some horrendous bug problems for a while (until i found that there were some spaces around our pipes that the 1.5 inch roaches were getting into the house through), and i dont seem to have much in common with people here politically (probably not very important for most ppl, but for a liberal person like me, it is a little annoying to keep hearing unsolicited conservative views everywhere i turn).
