New York one was funny...thought my friends in Houston would enjoy starting this up too.

You know you are a Houstonian when you are excited to put on your cowboy outfit to go to the Houston Rodeo and Livestock show!

When you turn left at the intersection, on a pink light and you look in the rear-view mirror and see 4 other cars right driving behind you saying "Hurry Up! Hurry Up!".

Feeling a bit nostalgic today and saw this thread and thought I would add...

1. You drove circles around the 610 loop over and over when you got your first car.

2. You had a season pass to Astroworld. This was a blast in the late 70's and early 80's.

3. You can still identify that exact shade of blue known as Oiler blue.

You can identify the exact spot next to Planet Ford where the Goodyear Blimp Barn was.

You went to Peppermint Park for birthday parties.

You know construction on 45 S. will never be finished. Ever.

You skipped school to go to The Galleria and ride the elevators in Transco.

You remember The Summit.

You see people of all races, sexes, ethnicity's, cultures, & religions getting along.

You get lost at night you use Williams Tower's rotating beacon as a quick reference as to where you are in the city.

You see car dealerships next to strip clubs, next to liquor stores, next to churches, next to neighborhoods, next to gas stations.

You know those wacky billboard advertisements by heart.

You've been crabbing in Galveston before.

You've eaten your share of Crawfish.

You've eaten at Papadeaux.

You know the "crane" is the official bird of Houston.

You've never seen a freeway NOT under construction.

when you think the folks living a "little farther" down the highway are teh suckers.

when you think the folks living a "little farther" down the highway are teh suckers when theres really nowhere to go or theyre in all directions

when you say "inside the loop" like its a small select high quality area

when you say "the loop" like theres something the loops around it

when you insist beyonce's family are celebrities in Houston

when you remember things that are utterly forgettable (the kind readers would go "WTF?")

when you think you're better than other people because you use public transportation, or dont own smartphones

when "memorial" doesn't make you cringe a bit

I remember the great and outstanding acoustics at the Music Hall a lot better than the Summit.
Not to forget the Dome Shadows not so great acoustics.
Food wise, Two pesos was miles better than Taco Cabana.

When you see people who move here from other states and they dress up on Go-Texan day like it is a Halloween costume, i.e., black dress slacks, white shirt, kids toy holster and guns, with a black cowboy hat.........geez what is up with that get-up (and Texas laugh at them because they think they look good).
