Interesting. I know there is both good and bad in this...

U-Haul: Houston tops list of destination cities - Houston Business Journal

"More people made Houston their final destination in 2009, according to U-Haul International Inc.
As part of the Phoenix-based do-it-yourself moving company’s annual U-Haul National Migration Trend Report, titled “The 2009 Top 50 U.S. Destination Cities,” Houston moved up to No. 1 from No. 2.
Rounding out the Top 10 is Las Vegas; Chicago; San Antonio; Orlando, Fla.; Austin; Atlanta; Sacramento, Calif.; Kansas City, Mo.; and Denver."

Not surprised. Out of all of the metros in the top 10, Houton's population growth percentage increased.

Dallas didn't show up, but Vegas and Orlando did? That's odd.

I'd say that's not odd at all. If you are moving, you are likely down on your luck and starting over. Vegas, Orlando and Houston are very welcoming of newcomers. Dallas....not so much.

I know right? That's very odd. Looking at the census's growth, I'm also surprised that DC didn't make the list.

I thought Orlando was in a negative growth pattern - same with Vegas (but not as bad). I heard both were hurting.

What you said makes absolutely no sense. Ill chalk it up to bias. Especially since DFW is the fastest growing metro area in the US, you really want to insist that Vegas is welcoming to newcomers but Dallas isnt? Bias plain and simple.

All this list is showing is where people are renting the most U-Hauls. People use them for more moving, not just moving across country.

Agree with you, but just wondering, is they're a lot of U-Haul locations up there?

Default I think Dallas didn't make the list because Fort Worth was considered seperately.

That is why

Which is all well and good, my re-action was to this statment which crbcrbrgv made:

How the hell could you make a conclusion like that based on this list?
