I would go if Houston didn't charge a entrance fee as well as parking fee only for me to spend more money once I'm in. That's ridiculous. Other cities big and small like NYC & Virginia Beach, VA don't charge a fee for entrance if the festival food stands charge $$ for a taste of their specialties. That's like being charge an entrance fee to a restaurant where you're going to spend more on their menu.

I agree with @Citydiversity. I went last year and did not knew about the parking + entrance fees. The fees is ridiculous. If they don't charge the entrance fees then people will spend more buying the actual goods from the shops inside the IFest.

I agree. The festival lost a lot of steam a few years back when it became a pay per view event.

$17 is pretty steep for the festival, and the you have to purchase tickets for food and drinks. It winds up being $6 for a beer. However, you don't have to park onsite.

One thing I can say about the fee is you can see some pretty good concerts. I spent $12 last weekend watching a so-so band at a venue which wasn't nearly as good as some of the bands at IFest.

$17 just to go there and buy some food and drinks? Sorry, not interested.

It should be free like the Japan Festival.

come on, big mexican crowds are awesome. some of the flea markets rule...they are free to get in to, have live mexican/tejano music, and delicious, fresh, and cheap food. i like when they are crowded. it's fun.
