Hi,

My wife is working in the Galleria location and we have been planning to buy and move to Sugar Land. However, she is not inclined to drive and prefers the park and ride(PR). I see that there are 2 park and ride facilities at UoH campus and AMC FC in Sugar Land. I wanted to check with you guys on how convenient these 2 PRs are (We have not used any PR before). She prefers to drive till one of the PR and park there and take the bus. I see the schedule online for these buses. Do they stick to the times? How long does a typical 8 - 8 30 AM and 5-30/6 PM buses take to travel between UoH PR and Galleria? Anyone using these can help me out here with this info. Thanks for your time.

I drive to Galleria everyday from the middle of Sugar Land and is actually not that bad.

I do the standard 9-5 hours and usually is 30-40 minutes in the morning and 30-45 minutes coming back.

I understand. And I know eventually she will switch. But wanted to check the PR's comfort and convenience, depending now which, even our preferences in sugar land could differ. If the PRs are convenient, we may bite the bullet of higher price for property closer to them to reduce the commute time. That would mean Telfair, Avalon, etc. So need to know this. Thanks.

Park and ride to the med center is on time, except for the occasional hiccup, can't speak for the galleria.

There here has been occasional traffic at certain times on the HOV, to be expected in Houston.

Try it out one morning, or afternoon to get a feel for it

Sorry I did not see this thread sooner, but perhaps my input may be helpful to someone. I took the park and ride bus to the Galleria area for nearly five years (up until about a year and a half ago) and the bus almost always ran on time or +/- 10-15 min (15 min delay would be unusual). I now ride the Med Center route and am generally pleased.

When I was commuting to the Galleria, I caught a bus at UH at 6:42 and was down by the Post Oak Hilton in time to start work a couple of blocks away at 7:30. Afternoon commute was probably a bit longer (it is for the Med Center route) but I don't remember its being too annoying.

An update so that someone may find this helpful.
2 years after this post, we started using this FB shuttle service and we should say it is great. Almost always on time and eliminates the traffic hassle.
