AFAIK, nothing unusual going on...there are usually a number of houses for sale there, it's a big area.
There was a development planned for the top of Burleson Mountain (just past Burningtree Valley), but thanks to the economy the developer abandoned his plans and auctioned off the property.
Road work? Where?

I am speaking specifically to Burningtree Valley...Summerwind Drive, Applewood Drive, and Pineridge Circle. There are not that many homes in that area, but a large number of them are on the market.

I saw this article in the paper from last year and wondered if it was the root cause.

I don't know, but hardly anything is popping up for sale in Pointe Mallard Estates. Thats where I want to move.

Youre right, E. Limestone ! I am keeping an eye on Pt Mallard for a friend. Not much available at the moment. Its a wonderful place to live for a family. I think it might just be the time of year....Ive seen more listings available at other times.

You peeked my interest. Why do they call this place "burningtree"? or "burningtree mountain"? I'd imagine there must be lots of red leaves by fall. If so, that will be a great place to watch the fall leaves turn red, no?

I have no idea why it's Burningtree Mountain.

It was another name (don't remember what) when developers christened it Burningtree in the late 1960s/early 1970s and began building big houses targeted to incoming execs for the new Saginaw Steering Gear (later Delphi) plant. Burningtree is the "mountain," development (2 - the one on the mountain and behind the country club and Burningtree Valley, developed in the 1990s), and the country club.

Although the city has an area designated for an elementary school, residents have to drive into Decatur for elementary, middle and high school. And softball, baseball, football, basketball, karate, dance etc etc.
