With the temps projected to be in the hig 90's this week, share how you and your family will keep cool. Where you will go and what you will be doing.

Today we are taking our grandaughters to see the dinosaur thing at the VBCC. Tomorrow grandpa will take the younger ones to play in the "jumping water" at Bridge Street while my credit card and I spend some quality time in the stores with our 10 year old grandaughter.

Well I work outside, mechanic, garage isn't cooled and even with a fan it's not really that bearable.

I work early and knock off till 4...when I can.

Otherwise I am going to enjoy the great indoors with my wonder AC unit!

I hope you enjoy that Dino thing, all of my siblings and nephews are too old for it now.

Do stuff outside as early as possible, then go inside to the A/C around 12 noon. You can come out again after 5 p.m. Hit a swimming pool whenever you can.

No relief for our family ... All-Star softball games at Bell Mountain Park all day today and tomorrow. Fortunately, there's a Sonic just a few minutes away ... milkshakes!!

We'll drink plenty of fluids in the day and enjoy the katydids and fireflies in the evening. I'll fire-up my BBQ pit and immerse the neighborhood in the succulent aroma of smoke-infused pork. And if it gets too hot we'll just turn on the sprinklers and run around the yard like carefree children.

I like to look on the positive side thinking this heat and humidity will only last a short time up here unlike those who fled our winter climate for Florida and now will have to endure these kind of high temps from April-Nov.

From June through mid-September. Short enough for you?
