I remember during the 80's when all the Del Taco Restaurants closed in Marietta, GA around the same time as Godfather's Pizza. Years later, I found both chains doing well on the West Coast. I still have some Del Taco coupons in my glove box since we just relocated from San Diego.

They were great. I ate at one in Orlando when I was there on vacation. The food was great, and price was reasonable.

One more thing I forgot to mention....

They sell tacos and fries. That is a rare, but wonderful combination. AFAIK, Shaggy's is the only local place that does that.

Wait what? Del Taco still exists? I remember getting Del Taco a long time ago in the Silicon Valley. When I go back , I don't even know if I could find one now.
I just remember then main draw was them being cheap (even cheaper than Taco Bell).
