Apparently WOW cable has just dropped BBCAM (including Hidef), Ion, AXSTV, and HDNTM. I'll miss the last one. Also they've moved some channels around.

And they haven't added anything to replace them, or reduced the price any.

Ugh.. I thought AXSTV was pretty ok for showing live music.

So uverse has a $39 deal going that includes:

U-Basic TV
U-Verse Internet Max Plus (18Mbps)
HBO and HBO Go
One year of Amazon Prime

Someone want to talk me out of dumping WOW for this? Do they have data caps?

My WOW! bill is now $140 for extended basic and 12mbps internet. Was looking at uverse a few days ago. I think the uverse cap is 250 GB per month. Might vary by plan though, their website is heavy on sales pitches, light on details.

That price price price only includes 1 TV. Each extra is also $7/mo. The install can be a bit of a pain. If your current coax isn't up to snuff, they run all new wiring - with the annoyances that can entail.

It appears that there are other fees like a $7/month "Internet Wifi Gateway" that is required and $200 installation. Plus the $39 is only good for a year and then it goes up to $80 + $7 internet gateway + $7 / TV.

So it's:

$39 - base fee
$7 - Internet Gateway
$7 - Additional TV
$16.66 - Installation fee divided by 12 months

That is around $70/month for the first year.

After that it will be:

$80 - base fee
$7 - Internet Gateway
$7 - Additional TV

or $94/month

I don't think it's worth the pain and not to mention the data cap:

AT&T Data & Internet Usage Tools

You'll be charged $10 for every incremental 50 GB of usage beyond 250 GB.

If you tell WOW that you are considering switching they will probably lower your bill. I know from experience and they are losing money to other companies.

I don't know how WOW does it but Comcast won't just lower your bill. They look for an unadvertised deal that you can switch to so that your bill will be lower.
