This. The roundabout at Providence is much too small. Huntsville was too cheap to build it properly, and at some point it will have to be redone.

It's basically a 4 way stop because it's too small. And due to the direction it doesn't favor off-loading Old Monrovia fast enough. One car going south on Providence upsets that whole flow in the evening. I lived there for 10 years of that mess.

You're certainly correct about that. It's like they were built as a novelty rather than a traffic-moving device. But I still like them over two-way or four-way stop signed intersections.

Parcel A is going to be a new apartment complex, Dry Creek Apartments, with a 180 apartments. At one point there were plans for parcel D to be a "Providence" style TND, but this has been long dead.

Publix #1612 has opened. Publix Super Markets now operates 1,177 stores with 1,073 pharmacies chain-wide. Of that, sixty-eight stores with sixty-seven pharmacies are in Alabama.

Guess 12 of those are in Huntsville/Madison County, including the one under construction on Zierdt and Martin Rd.

Do you think the one on Madison Blvd will close once the one at Zierdt/Martin opens? It's a smaller store that's been there several years, but it seems like a really good location. I guess it remains to be seen how much business will be diverted to the new store.

I've heard that the Madison Blvd Store will remain, plus they appear to be doing this intentionally.
